Welcome to this special series dedicated to slow wine held in bologna in March twenty twenty three. During the fair, we conducted several interviews with some very exciting producers. We were able to pull out some of the more interesting elements of Italian wine within the slow wine movement, tune in each week on Italian wine podcast. Here we are. Again, another interview at slow wine, the part of the slow food movement slow food festival, and I'm here with a fantastic fantastic inologist. Mato Esposito. And you are part of the leon de Castris winery. Yeah. I'm gonna ask you some questions about this. But before I do, I just wanted to mention we wanted to talk about the book Italian wine unplugged two point o. It's our second edition. It's for wine lovers in general, but we also have a lot of students that read this book. And your grapes are produced at the winery. Your winery is mentioned because of this you're a benchmark producer. So tell me a little bit about you first. You need the So Can you tell me a bit about the family and the winery history? Yes. Very Spanish. Wow. How many bottles do you guys produce a year? Oh, wow. That is a lot more than I thought you were gonna say. That's a lot. So you export to a lot of places. What's the most popular wine that you export? Can I ask you for students? For example, we were talking about the book a minute ago. What do you think they would find most interesting about you know, how is made or Aleatico is how it's processed, how it's created into wine. Like, tell me a little bit about how the terroir influences your grapes and how it then translate into the grass, and what makes it special? About your wines. You probably drink a lot of wine or taste a lot of wine. I hope you drink a lot of wine. And you probably have you have access to, like, the best food in the world.
